After almost a year long battle with cancer, the Lord took home my dear friend Marisa. I love her so much and I miss her already.
Please pray for her husband Mendelt, three young children Zion (5), Jacoba (3) and Zekijah (1) as well as all her other family and friends.
Here's what Mendelt wrote on their blog:
"Late this morning, December 6, Marisa took her last earthly breaths in my arms.
She went to a mansion. With many rooms. Probably pianos.
Don’t be sad for Marisa. She doesn’t have cancer anymore.
Shine on Marisa, shine on."

You are certainly in my thoughts. It is a blessing that she no longer feels any pain and is in a wonderful place but it is so sad for those left behind. I can relate as I lost a friend to leukemia in her early 30s.

Karen, my deepest sympathy. So young, too young. Simply, not fair. May she rest in peace.
Karen, I'm so sorry for your loss! She is in a place where there is no more pain!
I am so sorry. I just read through her blog and she seemed like an amazing person.
So glad that she is now cancer free.
Karen,
I am sorry for your loss but glad for you that you had a friend you loved like that in life. If you need a shoulder, mine is yours, although it may seem distant.. I will find my way to you because you are a friend that I dearly love as well. And because my life has been blessed by your friendship. I pray that you will be able to feel peace when you miss Marisa and remember the laughter that you shared.
Oh Karen my deepest sympathy goes out to you and your friends family - what an awful thing to have happen to such a young family. They are in my prayers and so are you.
My thoughts are with you and Marissa’s family during this difficult time. I trust that she is at peace now and there is no pain.
Take care
Smiles! :o)

I am sorry for your loss, and sorry for her family too. But I am happy that she is where there will no longer be pain, and she will be happy forever.
Oh i am so so sorry Karen, I've been praying for her since you first told us about her. I'll be praying for her husband and children!
I'm so sorry Karen. Praying for Marisa's family and for you too.
Love and hugs, Catherine xoxo
I'm so sorry, Karen. My thoughts are with the family now.
Oh Karen, I want to say that is very sad but after reading your entire post.... what a positive way to think
I'm sure you must have a heavy heart right now. Take care and I'll keep you in my prayers.
