PC Soy formula (no milk):
Beech Nut cereal (no milk): Plus she eats a variety of fruits and vegetables and has never been more regular! She's a great eater and likes every new food we introduce to her. She hasn't minded the switch in formula or cereal either which makes life a lot easier. As you can see from her size, she likes her food!
Oh ya and she may have a little addiction to this:
Ovol is something we used with Victoria and Austin when they were babies too. It helps calm a gassy tummy (to some extent). Every time I get it out to give some to Samara, she starts flapping her arms and kicking her legs and her whole face lights up. She loves it . . . yikes.
The last two nights have been pretty good for sleep. She doesn't fight sleep as much anymore either which makes it easier to put her down. Two nights ago she fell asleep at 8:30ish and 7:45 last night and then only woke up once in the middle of the night, had a small dose of Ovol and slept through until about 6:30 am. That's a huge improvement - still not as good as in China but we'll take it. I know she wakes up in the night from the gassy tummy because I can hear it gurgling and then she starts grunting and groaning and pushing out the toots. I feel so bad for her. I think as soon as the gas settles down, she'll go back to being a good sleeper. Once she's asleep too, nothing can wake her. Even really loud sudden noises (the kids screaming or even the smoke alarm) don't affect her sleep. I suppose that comes from living in the orphanage for so many months and having to sleep through loud noise.
Here are a few pictures of her taken over the past few days:
She definitely keeps us on our toes. She has mastered the crawling thing and gets into everything. She has started putting things (non-food items) into her mouth more too so we have to keep an eye on her with that. As you can see from the pictures above, she is such a happy and easygoing baby. She brightens our day with her beautiful smile and giggles. We just love her to pieces and we're so glad that God chose her to be part of our Carmody family. What a blessing.

She is such a blessing! I have a little parcel to send you. I didn't want to email you as soon as you got home as I know you are probably needing some 'down' time. Will drop you a line this weekend.
She is simly adorable, I am glad she is getting back into a good sleep routine.
Thank you for the lovely comments and prayers about my job.
She is such a cutie! You must be so happy to finally have her home with you and a part of your family. I'm glad her tummy is feeling better with the new formula. Looking forward to seeing Samara grow through your blog. Thanks for sharing.

Hoping that this new diet will solve her tummy issues. The pictures are so incredibly sweet!
Emma did not like any formula until we tried the Similac Lactose Free (hard to find). It was simply all she would take and now she loves her bottle. As for gas "YES" she still has some gas but we did the LF more so because she was super picky and it was what she liked. I hope the gas settles down for Samara with the new diet! Amy Gr 241

I SO understand the lactose problem and the horrible stomach pains that come with it!
BOTH Mark and I are lactose intolerant. It gets easier and easier as time goes on as there are so many more options coming out all the time! You can even get lactose free ice cream now!!
I had a lactose intolerant baby too! Chase was...and that was before President Choice had their line of formula out. His cans of formula were like GOLD!! You do ANYTHING for them though, just to help make them feel better!!
Blessings!! Samara is BEAUTIFUL!!
OHHHH, I recognize a tongue like that. Olivia puts EVERYTHING in her mouth - even a spoon these days :-)
Glad you found out what is bothering her tummy.
Happy Birthday little baby
Happy Birthday Samara

She is sooo adorable!
Hoping her tummy is better!
Oh what a beautiful, happy daughter you have! Samara is too cute for words.
Glad you've been able to find out what's upsetting her tummy and can change her diet easily.
Yup...ADORABLE! :o)
Hey you Carmodys,
I told you there was a bond between adopted children but I am sorry to hear that she shares my lactose intolerance. Thankfully things have improved over the years and there are lots more options. In fact, not that she is ready for this yet, but I just found a lactose free sour cream at Fortinos - President's Choice.
