We got poop folks!!

I know, I know . . . thanks for sharing right? Samara is feeling quite a bit better. She's had a few doses of the antibiotics and it seems her throat is feeling better. And of course her tummy feels so much better now that her poop issues are resolving. She was still kind of whiny in the morning yesterday when we were out but when we got back to the hotel room she was so different and we had our "happy Samara" back again. She's so cute and smiley and she's crawling around more everyday. She can pull herself up to a standing position but doesn't really cruise yet. She loves to lie on the floor and roll around and then looks up and giggles at us. The stacking cups are her favourite toys.

So you want more pictures of Samara? Ok, here's the thing. Our camera is giving us some serious issues. The card doesn't work and so we bought a new one but now it also doesn't work - so now we think it's the camera and not the card. It's very frustrating - but I'm glad we have the video camera because we have some neat videos of her. If only I knew how to post a video on this blog . . . you could see her live. I'll try to figure it out when we get home. In the meantime, I'll borrow mom's digitial camera today so I can post some more pictures of her a little later.

Yesterday morning we visited The Six Banyan Temple. It was very interesting to see the monks and learn about the different Buddist rituals. In the main part of the temple, a Buddist monk blessed all our babies and then we lit incense so that the blessing would go up and reach Budda. Don't worry, we're not becoming Buddist - it was just kind of neat to participate in something that's such a huge part of Chinese culture. Here are some of the pictures that mom took on her camera.

On the way back from the temple, we stopped at the Pearl Market. Wow - I've never seen so many pearls in my life - every shape and colour you can imagine. I bought myself a bracelet and we're thinking about getting something for Victoria and Samara still for when they're a little older - pearls are very cheap here compared to back home. Apparently there's a better Pearl Market when we go back to Beijing so we'll probably wait for that.
We're off to the White Cloud Mountain today. I'll try to post more Samara pics a little later.

Yeah! Congratulations! Amazing what a relief it is for her... and for you! I can't believe no one has commented on this exciting event yet! A friend of mine got pearls from China when her sister adopted. She was bragging about them the other day. She told us they were cheap. This is not a hint. What a drag about the camera! Glad mom has one to fill in the blanks!

Karen,
I'm happy to hear Samara is doing well. We parents obsess about that in China don;t we? As for pearls, we have been to both markets and they are about equal so even revisiting the one in Guangzhou is good. We were pleased with the pearls we bought the girls there. Thanks for asking about Kimberly- she has finished her antibiotics and seems to be feeling better. She is also sleeping a little better. I have posted some updated photos on our blog (not that you'll have time to check).

How about a picture with Grandma and Samara? I am glad to hear that Grandma is still there (at least she and her camera): I was starting to wonder if you had left her somewhere. Margaret E.
