Here we go . . .

It's Thursday morning and we're on our way in a few hours. We've had Samara for two weeks now and she has slept great every single night . . . except last night. sigh. She fell asleep fine as she always does but about an hour into it, she was very restless and we didn't get her back to a good sleep until 2:00 am. Then I woke up at 6:00 am and that was it. So needless to say, I'm tired and it's not a very good start to our journey home.

Please pray for us as we leave here. I know I've been saying how much I want to go home but at the same time it's a little emotional to be leaving this country that gave us such an awesome gift. Who knows when we'll be back.

Please pray for our flight - for safety but also for peace for us and especially for Samara. Pray that whatever was bothering her last night is gone and that she can be healthy and happy on the way home and perhaps sleep for 13 hours of it - ok, I'll settled for 12! (just kidding). I don't have to tell you that it's a long flight and being cooped up for that long is far from pleasant for anyone - let alone with a baby.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who has been following our journey. The comments and emails have made our days and we are so thankful to have such awesome support through family and friends. Also to those of you who were following along silently, your thoughts and prayers have been greatly appreciated.

We love you all and can't wait to see you very soon.

Love Mike, Karen and Samara

P.S. I'll try to post when we get home as soon as I get an opportunity just to let you know we've arrived safely.

Have a great flight home. surprisingly enough, the time goes by reasonably well because you are busy keeping a baby happy and trying to stay awake at the same time. YOu will feel so punchy from lack of sleep but somehow, you just keep moving on.
You will be so excited to see your other 2 children for sure but be patient with how long it might take to switch Samara to Canadian time. try to rest when she does because she will be up at night and your other 2 will need you awake during the day. Get help to make the transition from family members.
And don't let her nap much during the day-keep her awake as late as possible (yes it seems cruel) but it will switch her around sooner that way. And get as much fresh air and sunshine in freezing cold Ontario as you can to help out. We came home into freezing cold winter back in Jan. 04 so I speak from experience!

Take care,

I hope the flight is not too terrible for you. I know that my limit is about 4 hours before I start going stir crazy on the plane!!

Hey guys,

We're praying for you guys as you fly to your home and native land! And look at it this way--if your flight is adventuresome, you'll have a great story to post on your blog. :) Thanks for the message.

Love you lots,
M&M and kids

I've been thinking of you all day and will be praying until I fall asleep...for safety, for calm and for patience. I've been praying for the snow to stop and your landing day looks like it will be fine. I'll be watching this site closely to know when you are home.
love, Marianne

The flight won;t be too bad if Samara is feeling well. You'll enjoy some time with her, your fellow group members and walking the aisles. Take your friends advise about the ways to cope with the time change. Can't wait to hear you're home.

Praying for you, Karen, as you make the trip home. And for the adjustments in time and many other things as your Samara joins your family. I hope all goes well. Can't wait to hear about your kids' reactions to when they meet Samara!
